Why so serious?
Anyhow, tomorrow I have to accompany a few kids for a national martial arts tournament.I'm not their trainers, will be there just to get the name.
Anyway, based on my previous observation, these were some things
I taught needed to be considered for a tournament like this.
- Seating arrangement for the audience. It's quite sad to see only the judges had clear view but the audience needed to stand tall to see the fights.
- The seriousness of the referees. I'm being serious, now. I respect some referees but not the others. It's not that they were being unfair but they did not look like a professional referee. These are the things that made me curious. Their stances, rules that made them stopped the fight and bias.
- The formality of the tournament. There was no clear cut preparations from the organiser. There were no posting of schedules, launching ceremony and photo shooting.
My! I've got to spend hell of a time being negative to list all these things. Please, no more negatives. NOPE! Negatives and positives are what make thing balanced.
I do understand the hard work to organise such tournament. Just that, I think, when a national tournament undergone with little to no preparation, it's hard for it to be internationally recognised.
